Margaret Lansink, born in the Netherlands in 1961, is a photographer whose work develops from personal experiences of intimacy, loss, family and separation. Working mainly in black and white, she combines photographs with alternative printing techniques, Japanese paper and handmade books. Projects including Borders of Nothingness and Body Maps connect personal histories with landscape and abstraction. Darwin selects Lansink for making vulnerability tangible through restrained images and carefully constructed photographic objects.
