Individuals present themselves to the camera within the shared spaces of their community, making gestures and dress part of the social account. The photographs encourage a reading beyond the gang label, giving room to the ways people choose to appear and to the bonds visible between them. First published as a book in 2011, the project was redesigned for this 2020 edition with previously unpublished photographs and an introduction by Miss Rosen. The edition comprises 750 copies.

Technical Sheet
Title: El Hoyo Maravilla
Artist / Author: Janette Beckman
Date: 2020
Edition: 2020 redesigned edition
Edition size: 750 copies
Medium / Materials: Softcover
Dimensions: 20.96 × 15.24 cm
Pages: 48
Publisher: Dashwood Books

//cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/0999/7058/0818/files/TODWEBB_copy_copy_6755c104-c8a9-4eb5-b790-70e4367d3fda.jpg?v=1792073396
