僕のアルバム (Boku no Album / An Album) — Shōji Ueda — Kyuryudo — 2007
After Shōji Ueda's death, his family found negatives of his wife Kie made between the mid-1930s and the 1950s. Boku no Album brings 69 of these previously unpublished photographs together. Kie was both his closest companion and a frequent subject, and the pictures move between domestic affection and the measured staging associated with Ueda's work. A text by their granddaughter Kaoruko Nakata adds a family voice to this unusually personal book.
