Ren Hang – At Work — Peter Coeln — dienacht Publishing — 2024

A close view of Ren Hang making photographs in Vienna, seen through the camera of Peter Coeln, who was unusually permitted to accompany him at work. Three nude models move between trees and river water as the photographer builds his precise, playful arrangements of bodies. Coeln’s observations sit alongside images made by Ren Hang during the session. Seven fold-outs, a poster and a separate booklet extend the encounter beyond a conventional behind-the-scenes document.
