Vidar Korneliussen builds Gothenburg Faces from direct encounters across the Swedish city, using the face as a way into its social texture rather than as an isolated typology. The portraits accumulate differences in age, style and attitude while retaining the immediacy of street contact. Published by 89books, the book becomes a contemporary civic portrait made from individuals rather than landmarks, with Gothenburg emerging through the people who occupy its streets and public spaces.
