HOMO LUDENS, Masahisa Fukase, AKAAKA, 2025
One of the key works for understanding Masahisa Fukase before Ravens . First published in 1971, this six-part sequence moves between intimacy, desire, loss, performance and mortality, tracing the emotional terrain that would define his later practice. Images of Yoko Wanibe, underground Shinjuku life, family relationships and personal memories unfold with striking psychological intensity. This faithful reprint restores the complete original book while rethinking its design, revealing the radical vision and autobiographical depth of Fukase’s debut photobook.
