I Will Keep You in Good Company — Liz Johnson Artur, SPBH Editions, 2025
An intimate entry into the artist’s working mind, where photography is built through touch, layering and repetition. Drawn from over twenty personal workbooks spanning three decades, this book reveals a process rooted in proximity—images cut, annotated and reassembled into living pages. Friends, strangers and fragments of daily life accumulate into a tactile archive that feeds her Black Balloon Archive. Less a retrospective than a space of thinking, it shows how looking becomes a way of staying close.
