夏をあつめて (Collecting Summers) Koji Onaka, SUPER LABO, 2017

A photographer rediscovers the world through colour. Made after Koji Onaka’s decisive shift from black-and-white to colour photography, Collecting Summers gathers images taken across Japan between the late 1990s and 2017. Freed from the formal restraint of his earlier work, Onaka embraces light, atmosphere and chance encounters, transforming coastlines, small towns and everyday landscapes into luminous fragments of memory. Overflowing with the warmth of long summer days, the book captures a moment of renewal in one of Japan’s most quietly influential photographic careers.
