La Renfermée, la Corse — Marie Susini & Chris Marker — Seuil — 1981

La Renfermée, la Corse brings together the writing of Marie Susini and photographs by Chris Marker in a portrait of Corsica shaped by memory, attachment and the tensions of island life. Published by Éditions du Seuil in 1981, the book places a literary reflection on belonging alongside black-and-white images of the island, its people and its surroundings. Susini considers the emotional hold of her place of origin as well as the constraints of a traditional society.
