Heaven Is a Place on Earth with You — Gabriele Alongi — 89books

Gabriele Alongi builds this work from contradictions: religious faith and sin, family and dissatisfaction, childhood sweetness and the attraction of artificial paradises. Flowers, cemeteries, intimacy and the desire to belong enter a personal visual diary shaped by emotional ambivalence rather than a fixed documentary subject. Alongi describes a persistent search for love running through these images, alongside fascination with difference and spiritual aspiration. Published by 89books, the 96-page volume gives these recurring motifs a deliberately unresolved sequence.
