Lois and Carey — Rona Bar & Ofek Avshalom — 89books — 2025

Lois and Carey is constructed around two people and the intimacy of sustained observation. Rather than using portraiture to define its subjects from the outside, the book allows relationships, domestic details and repeated encounters to accumulate gradually. Published by 89books, the sequence operates between portrait and personal diary, giving small shifts in expression, proximity and environment as much importance as individual photographs. Its strength lies in continuity: the subjects are encountered as lives unfolding rather than isolated images.
