Photography Noir. Existence — 89books

Photography Noir. Existence brings together Alexander Chekmenev, Rimaldas Vikšraitis and Miron Zownir, three photographers whose work repeatedly confronts lives at the social edge. Rather than presenting darkness as a visual style alone, the publication connects portraiture with poverty, post-Soviet realities and forms of existence rarely granted comfortable representation. The three bodies of work remain distinct, but their proximity creates a deliberately severe conversation about visibility and human vulnerability. Published by 89books in 2024, the volume runs to 80 pages.
