Somnia — Kimmo Kauko — 89books

Kimmo Kauko constructs Somnia around the unstable logic of dreams, where bodies, spaces and fragments of narrative appear without needing to resolve into a continuous story. The photographs use atmosphere, colour and staged suggestion to move between waking observation and imagined experience. Published by 89books, the book is less concerned with illustrating dreams than with reproducing their visual uncertainty: familiar situations become slightly displaced, and the sequence gains meaning through association rather than explanation.
