Camarón 3 de julio 1992 — Clemente Bernad, Ediciones Ojo de Buey, 2023 (2nd edition)

A raw, immediate document of collective grief at the death of flamenco’s greatest myth. Shot in the chaos of Camarón’s funeral, these images capture a charged atmosphere where devotion, disorder, and mourning collapse into one. Taken on 3 July 1992 and published three decades later, Bernad’s photographs resist distance—grain, proximity, and tension place the viewer inside the crowd. A rare testimony of a cultural rupture, where popular emotion becomes image.
