Hajime Sawatari, born in Tokyo in 1940, is a Japanese photographer known for fashion, portraiture and erotic photography. His landmark books Nadia and Alice turn encounters with their subjects into extended photographic narratives, moving between documentary intimacy and staged fantasy.
