This Book Is True is an independent photobook publisher founded by Cristina de Middel in 2015, growing from her experience with self-publishing The Afronauts. Its catalogue combines De Middel’s own books with publications by other photographers, including Bieke Depoorter and Carlos Alba. Darwin selects the imprint for its commitment to artist-led publishing: books conceived as complete works, where editing, design, format and production remain closely tied to photographic authorship.
