Nave returns to the Normandy beaches not to reconstruct D-Day, but to photograph what remains when history has withdrawn from view. The book brings together Les rivages du débarquement and Mulberry Harbour , made between 2003 and 2005, with photographs from his return in 2019 for the 75th anniversary of the landings. Empty beaches, fog and remnants of military infrastructure turn landscape into a repository of memory, where present-day calm remains inseparable from the events of 1944.
