Private Scenes — Masahisa Fukase — Atelier EXB

Private Scenes gathers the complete series in which Masahisa Fukase makes his own presence part of the photograph. Images from his 1989 travels through European cities meet Tokyo pictures made in 1992, whose prints he later painted in colour. The usual distinction between observer and subject breaks down: Fukase is in the scene and implicated in the act of looking.
