Girls Are More Evil Than Tigers — Mauro D'Agati — 89books

Mauro D’Agati photographs Bangkok’s ageing brothel culture through places such as the Mytrichit Hotel in Chinatown, where handwritten messages from sex workers and clients remain on worn walls. The women he encounters, many in their fifties, wait for customers in inexpensive hotels increasingly out of step with the city’s high-tech image. The work concentrates on intimacy, poverty and the fragile survival of these spaces rather than nightlife spectacle, preserving a social environment already threatened with disappearance.
