Kinbaku Raisan brings Araki’s recurring subjects—bound bodies, flowers and sky—into direct collision through painted photographic imagery. Black-and-white photographs are crossed by forceful brushwork and areas of colour, disrupting the photograph as a fixed surface and linking erotic restraint to Araki’s broader vocabulary of life, sex and death. Published by eyesencia in an edition of 1,000 copies, the large-format book gives these interventions unusual physical presence while retaining the abrupt pairings and visual excess characteristic of his work.
