Nave returns to the Normandy beaches not to reconstruct D-Day, but to photograph what remains when history has withdrawn from view. The book brings together Les rivages du débarquement and Mulberry Harbour, made between 2003 and 2005, with photographs from his return in 2019 for the 75th anniversary of the landings. Empty beaches, fog and remnants of military infrastructure turn landscape into a repository of memory, where present-day calm remains inseparable from the events of 1944.
