無 (Mu) — Carles Mercader Fulquet — dienacht Publishing — 2016

Photographs made across Rubí, Barcelona, Tangier, Berlin, Madrid, Tokyo and Beijing form a raw, intimate itinerary of bodies and places. Carles Mercader Fulquet moves between portraits, nudity and the unsettling closeness of personal encounters, leaving their connections deliberately unresolved. The book’s spare construction is punctuated by a surgical-steel ring piercing its Japanese-paper cover: a small but forceful intervention that brings the physical object into the work’s vocabulary.
