On Heaven's Doorsill — Roxana Savin — dienacht Publishing — 2025

A grandmother’s dream of her dead husband becomes the starting point for a photographic meditation on rural Romanian beliefs surrounding death. Roxana Savin connects family memory with folklore, seasonal cycles and rituals in which the boundary between the living and the departed remains porous. The photographs give ordinary places an uneasy, suspended atmosphere. Open thread stitching, textured Japanese paper and two cut-outs in the covers make the book’s physical form part of its passage between presence and absence.
