A Theory of Happyness — Taisuke Sato — 89books

Taisuke Sato approaches happiness through ordinary life rather than through exceptional events. Family, intimacy and incidental moments are photographed with the looseness of a diary, allowing small pleasures and awkwardness to coexist without being resolved into a sentimental narrative. Published by 89books, A Theory of Happyness is deliberately personal: the misspelling in the title reinforces the project’s distance from any universal formula. Meaning accumulates through everyday details and the emotional rhythm of the sequence.
