Boxers, wrestlers, cabaret performers, magicians and other figures from the entertainment world posed for publicity portraits intended to circulate professionally. Edited by Rafael Doctor Roncero, the book gives new visibility to these often anonymous or overlooked lives and to the vernacular photographic practices surrounding Barcelona's popular performance culture. The resulting archive is as important for its social history as for the distinctive theatrical language of the portraits.
