Made during the pandemic, Yamagata’s book turns confinement and recurring childhood dreams into a sequence of photographic collages. Working with magazines, newspapers, photobooks and his own earlier images, he constructs distorted bodies, elongated animals, crowds of faces and dark spaces that sit between memory and hallucination. The book treats collage as a way of giving physical form to an internal world. Published in 300 copies, it contains 36 images.
