Human Trip — Ryuta Sakurai — 89books

Ryuta Sakurai builds Human Trip from encounters made on the move, favouring the immediacy of people, streets and transient situations over a fixed geographical narrative. The photographs have the loose energy of a diary but are held together by Sakurai’s attention to human presence and the small gestures that make unfamiliar places legible. Published by 89books, the book turns travel into a sequence of proximity rather than destination, with the photographer repeatedly drawn back to faces and chance meetings.
