Res no passa dues vegades / Nothing Happens Twice — Israel Ariño — Ediciones Anómalas — 2024
Israel Ariño’s Nothing Happens Twice approaches photography as a passage beyond the immediately visible. Accompanied by a text by Caroline Bénichou, the book considers images that resist the explanatory logic of the decisive moment: rather than identifying an event and fixing its meaning, Ariño leaves the relationship between what is seen and what is imagined unresolved. Two accordion-fold sequences extend the photographs across a continuous surface, allowing the reader to move between individual images and a wider visual field. Designed by underbau and published for Ariño’s 2024 exhibition at the Museu de l’Empordà in Figueres, the book gives its meditation on time and perception a distinctive physical structure.
