HUNGER – Jaume Plensa (2006)

A silent scream behind a veil of ink. This lithograph by Jaume Plensa, from his Serie Anónimos, portrays a veiled woman with the word HUNGER pressed vertically across her face. Rendered in soft black ink on translucent vegetal paper, the portrait seems to dissolve and cry, as if the ink itself is mourning. The repetition of vertical drips creates a rhythmic descent — like bars, rain, or a fall into silence.
