Time Flows in River — Han Youngsoo — Hansgraphic — 2017

The Han River runs through these photographs as both a place and a measure of Seoul's changing life. Han Youngsoo follows its banks, open ground and people at work or at leisure during the postwar decades, before the city settled into its present form. Time Flows in River gives space to the river's everyday uses and to the distance between the water and the growing metropolis. The sequence turns a familiar landmark into a record of movement, memory and urban transformation.
