Produced across 14 countries between 2014 and 2019, this Artist Edition brings together 80 large-format Polaroids and testimonies by people persecuted for their identity or sexuality. Concealment—through fabric, gesture or shadow—coexists with control, dignity and self-representation. The book’s hand-assembled construction, alternating 180gsm image pages with 80gsm text sheets one by one, makes it an extraordinarily complex object, unlikely to be produced this way again. Both document and act of visibility, it refuses silence.
