Here the photobook shifts from object to argument. We gather works where photography reflects on itself through editorial form: sequencing, montage, circulation. National surveys, partial histories, essays that stabilize and unsettle the field. In tension with other areas of the archive, this section holds a position: the image does not precede the book; the book produces it, displaces it, and works against it.
