EDITIONS BESSARD
Pierre Bessard enters Darwin as a partisan of the independent photobook, operating from a small Parisian publishing house with disproportionate intensity. We are drawn to his insistence on the book as object—minimal runs, no two copies identical, surprises embedded in sequence, signed photographs, RISO grain, canonical names colliding with the unknown. The zines extend our undercurrent of marginal speech. Publishing as evidence, not product. Care pushed toward obsession. Intimacy, scarcity, desire calibrated.
