This major retrospective volume traces ten formative years in Miquel Barceló’s career — a time marked by material experimentation, travel, and deepening solitude. Published to coincide with the 1998 exhibition at MACBA, the book gathers critical texts by John Berger, Pep Subirós, Hervé Landry and others, placing Barceló’s work within a broader context of contemporary painting, poetic inquiry and existential gesture.

The edition documents over 170 works with full-color plates, including paintings, notebooks, and ceramics. The design by Actar follows the clarity of European catalogues of the 1990s: generous margins, robust paper stock, and a careful rhythm between text and image.
