Mundos perdidos — Miguel Romero *signed (folder holding ten original works)

Mundos perdidos is a contained and precise edition: a folder holding ten original works by Miguel Romero, each signed, in an intimate 15 × 21 cm format. Rather than forming a sequential narrative, the images operate like archaeological fragments — traces of places, bodies, or moments that are either lost or perhaps never fully existed. Each piece suggests a closed world, but together they evoke a suspended narrative, an absent fiction.

The folder, designed by Underbau and handcrafted by Mariya Alipieva, is as much an object as a conceptual frame. There’s a visual and material restraint here that recalls the experimental photobooks of the 1970s, yet the finish is decidedly contemporary. The act of removing and handling each image outside the logic of a bound page turns the viewer into an editor, an accomplice.

Published in an extremely limited run of just 25 Spanish-language copies (with a parallel English edition), Mundos perdidos occupies the rare zone where photography meets publishing as a form of thought — intimate, tactile, and reflective.
