A week in Okinawa becomes a concentrated lesson in seeing. Made during Moriyama’s first visit to the island in 1974, these photographs were taken between workshops led alongside Shomei Tomatsu, Eikoh Hosoe, Masahisa Fukase and Nobuyoshi Araki. Working without a fixed theme, Moriyama wandered through Naha guided by instinct, producing images charged with the immediacy and restlessness that define his practice. Published in a hand-sewn edition of 700 copies, the book captures a formative encounter between photographer and place.
