Nomura’s darkness is less an absence of light than the space where bodies become uncertain. Published for her first major retrospective, the book brings her shadowed black-and-white male nudes into dialogue with animals, still lifes, cityscapes, atmospheric phenomena and moving reflections. The resulting sequences have the interrupted rhythm of cinema, balancing erotic tension with tenderness and disappearance. It reproduces the exhibition selection and includes essays by Enrique Juncosa, Simon Baker and Michiko Kasahara, situating Nomura’s photobooks as a central part of her practice.
