Founded in Valencia in 2018 by designers Jaime Sebastián and Rubén Montesinos, Handshake operates at the intersection of visual research, publishing and design. Rather than treating the book as a container, their projects explore editorial form as a field of experimentation. Darwin is drawn to Handshake's attention to contemporary image cultures, printed matter and collaborative processes, where artists’ books, photobooks and design publications circulate through the same visual logic. A platform that privileges inquiry over category and process over discipline.
