Working almost exclusively with Kodachrome from the 1950s onward, Herzog built a luminous record of working-class life in Vancouver: neon signage, pastel storefronts, beat-up cars, men in hats, women in curlers, shifting clouds and sharp light. His eye, always observant but never clinical, finds quiet drama and strange elegance in the everyday.
