Scarville repeatedly transforms her father’s earliest passport image through paint, beads, gold leaf, glitter and fragments of photographs—more than 300 variations made across an ongoing series. These works are interwoven with family archives from Guyana and New York, landscapes and conversations with her father, turning an official image into something unstable and deeply personal. The book examines diaspora, citizenship and memory while asking how much of a person can ever be contained in a photograph.
