Grief determines the form of this unusually narrow photobook. Made after the death of Nomura’s grandmother and shaped by memories of friends who had also passed away, its elongated format recalls a kyōhon, a Japanese Buddhist sutra book used in rituals for the dead. Nomura’s characteristic darkness becomes quieter here, turning photography into an intimate act of remembrance. Designed by Satoshi Machiguchi, the book was produced in 850 signed and numbered copies.
